Memory Pins, Accessories & Stitched Stories with Varvara
Woodstove Music & Arts Festival · Vancouver Island, Canada
July 3 & 5, 2026
Varvara works primarily with textile waste, transforming discarded materials into opportunities for creativity, reflection, and connection. At Woodstove, she invites visitors to make colourful memory pins and wearable accessories — earrings included — from leftover yarns and threads: choose colours that hold an experience, intention, or festival memory, then attach the piece to a hoodie, fanny pack, or backpack, or wear it. Visitors can also bring their own clothing and add a small stitched story, symbol, word, or memory. While crafting together, people begin sharing stories and intentions — an art-therapy-inspired practice and a welcoming space for conversation, connection, and collective making. Together we give textile leftovers a new life, keep waste out of landfill, and help preserve the beauty of the Island for future generations.
